The 83rd Golden Globes start soon, and the evening’s star-studded event will help kick off awards season for both film and TV. We’ve compiled everything you need to know about where to watch the Golden Globes, including live streaming options for cord-cutters.
Comedian Nikki Glaser returns to the Beverly Hilton to host after her successful run last year. The Golden Globes serve as a precursor to the Oscars and Emmys, awarding some of the best films and TV shows released over the past year. One notable element that sets the Golden Globes apart from some other awards ceremonies is that both TV and film categories are split into Drama and Comedy/Musical groupings, a distinction not made by events like the Academy Awards. Some of this year’s top-nominated films are “One Battle After Another,” “Sentimental Value,” “Sinners,” and “Hamnet.” Notable TV nods include “The White Lotus,” “Adolescence,” “Only Murders in the Building,” “Severance,” and “Pluribus.”

The Golden Globes will air on CBS in the US. The ceremony kicks off at 8 p.m. ET and will last about three hours. “ET: Live on the Golden Globes Red Carpet” coverage will begin on CBS at 7 p.m.
Where to watch the Golden Globes in the US
The cheapest way to live stream the Golden Globes is through Paramount Plus. Those interested in watching live will need to sign up for the Premium tier, which costs $13 a month. Paramount Plus Premium unlocks CBS live streams, ad-free on-demand streaming, and Showtime content. New users can get a seven-day free trial. The Golden Globes will also be available on demand the next day via the cheaper, ad-supported Essential tier.
Paramount Plus Premium (Monthly Plan)
Paramount Plus offers a huge library of on-demand content from Paramount, CBS, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, BET, and MTV. The Premium Plan also includes Showtime and live CBS streaming. More importantly, it removes ads from the on-demand streaming library.
If you’re interested in a live TV service that carries more than just CBS, several of the best live TV streaming services will be able to help you out. Our top recommendation is DirecTV, which offers CBS in all of its Signature plans and a couple of its cheaper genre packs. The cheapest CBS-friendly genre pack is the MyNews plan, which costs $40 a month and offers 10+ popular news networks. Local channels vary slightly by region for DirecTV genre packs, so if CBS isn’t available with MyNews in your area, we recommend opting for one of the Signature plans, which start at $90 a month for 90+ channels. DirecTV subscriptions come with a five-day free trial for new customers.
DirecTV Subscription
Previously known as AT&T TV, DirecTV offers streaming access to a large selection of live channels, including most key networks typically found in traditional cable packages.
Fubo is another popular service we’ve tested with robust CBS coverage. Subscriptions start at $56 a month for Fubo’s Sports + News plan, which offers CBS and around 28 other live channels. The plan also unlocks access to ESPN Unlimited at no extra charge. New users can get $10 off their first month of service after a five-day free trial.
Fubo Sports + News
The new Fubo Sports + News pack is only available in select areas. It combines 20+ major sports channels (including the new ESPN Unlimited) and select local networks (ABC, CBS, and FOX).
How to watch the Golden Globes from anywhere
Fans traveling away from home can still keep up with their usual viewing methods with the help of a VPN. Short for virtual private networks, VPNs are easy-to-use cybersecurity tools that enable people to alter the virtual locations on their electronic devices. This way, their go-to websites and apps work from anywhere, just like they would back home. VPNs are also handy ways to improve online security. Since the services we’ve recommended require US methods of payment, this option will work best for Americans who are simply traveling abroad.
NordVPN is our top recommendation. It’s a user-friendly service (even for beginners) with an impressive selection of servers and cybersecurity perks. Plus, it comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee if you find that it’s not what you’re looking for. You can learn more in our official NordVPN review.
NordVPN Plan
NordVPN is one of the top VPN services in the business. It offers excellent value with a strong selection of features and a low monthly price. A wide selection of international servers, high-end security, fast connections, and audited privacy protection have made the brand a household name in the world of VPNs.

Who is nominated at the Golden Globes?
There are tons of Golden Globe categories, spanning films, TV shows, on-screen leading and supporting roles, behind-the-scenes work, and more. One of the most notable races this year is the Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy. Nominees include Ethan Hawke, George Clooney, Jesse Plemons, Lee Byung-Hun, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Timothée Chalamet.
This year’s race for lead female film actor is also a hot topic. In the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy category, it’s a battle between Amanda Seyfried, Chase Infiniti, Cynthia Erivo, Emma Stone, Kate Hudson, and Rose Byrne. On the Motion Picture — Drama side, nominees include Eva Victor, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessie Buckley, Julia Roberts, Renate Reinsve, and Tessa Thompson.
On the TV side, the battle is on for the Best Television Series — Drama category, with last year’s winner, “Shōgun,” not in competition this year. New series “The Pitt” and “Pluribus” both made critically acclaimed splashes in 2025, but “Severance,” “The White Lotus,” and “The Diplomat” also released popular second and third season follow-ups in the past year.
The Musical or Comedy side is also a must-watch race. “Hacks” dethroned “The Bear” last year, and both series are once again up for the award this year. “Abbott Elementary,” “Nobody Wants This,” “Only Murders in the Building,” and “The Studio” are also in the running, with the latter taking home the honor at the September Emmy Awards and last weekend’s Critics’ Choice Awards.
Are there any new award categories this year?
For the first time ever, the Golden Globes will now recognize podcasts. Nominees in the brand-new Best Podcast category include “Armchair Expert With Dax Shepard,” “Call Her Daddy” (Alex Cooper), “Good Hang With Amy Poehler,” “Smartless” (Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett), “The Mel Robbins Podcast,” and “Up First” (NPR).
