Ways To Make This Homemade Necklace Craft Your Own!

Just like all our other crafts, you can turn this craft into your own by making modifications to fit your needs! You can do things like:

  • Use colorful yarn instead of twine.
  • Color the pendants different colors.
  • Paint different items like trees, animals, different Thanksgiving foods, etc.
  • Don’t add glitter.
  • Add more glitter.
  • Use stickers to decorate your pendant.
  • You can use paint pens to decorate instead of free handing your art.
  • Use a chain necklace if you want.
  • Add more charms you have around the house or faux pearls and make it extra fancy.
  • Add wooden beads to your pendant jewelry or add other beads to make a beaded necklace.
  • Mix in some essential oils to your clay to make a necklace that smells good.
  • Make a shorter necklace or longer necklace.
  • Use a leather cord.
  • You can use polymer clay and bake it so it’s more hard and less pliable.

Our Experience Making Homemade Necklaces

My kids really wanted to make more necklaces after we made our camping necklaces, so I had to sit down and think what we could do. And we didn’t have any fall themed necklaces. But one wanted nature and the other wanted Thanksgiving, so we made both! Each got the handmade pendant necklaces that they wanted.

It was a lot of fun, and I think we may do this for all the seasons. Not only do kids get a piece of costume jewelry they can use for pretend play and dress up or even wear to school (remember the statement necklace, makes me think of those), but they get to think about their favorite things about fall! Obviously one likes nature and the other likes food. Personally, I like both! I hope you had as much fun making these as my family did!
