  • Writing a different message instead of Happy Valentines day like I love you! You’re great! You’re a blessing!
  • Add heart candy to the card instead of painting them.
  • Instead of hearts do kisses.
  • You could also use heart stickers instead of painting the hearts.
  • Or stick on small gifts like a friendship bracelet, pretty ring, a whistle, any little toy will work.
  • Draw the hearts with markers.
  • Glue on heart shaped buttons.
  • Use acrylic paint instead or paint pens.
  • Add embellishments like glitter or sequins.
  • Use a crayon to draw the hearts or colored pencil to make a heart shape.

Our Experience Making These Simple Handmade Valentines Day Cards

We love making Valentines day cards. And I think any diy Valentine card is the perfect card to receive or to give to your favorite people may they be classmates, toddlers, kindergarteners in your class, loved ones, etc.

This was one of the more fun Valentine’s day crafts. Mainly because my kids love splattering paint. But honestly, who doesn’t? These homemade cards turned out so cute and I’m glad we made them.

Just remember to put some newspaper or craft paper down before kids start splattering paint. I forgot, but luckily watercolor is pretty easy to remove if you clean it right away. I hope your family enjoyed making these simple handmade Valentines day cards as much as we did!
