I’ll admit it—I’ve owned more funnel neck jackets than I care to count. Suede, khaki, nylon, even a questionable corduroy number (we all make mistakes). This season, though, the only version that feels right is leather. To everyone’s surprise, the fashion crowd is gravitating towards leather funnel neck jackets this season in lieu of other materials and jacket shapes. Funnel necks are familiar (the style was everywhere earlier this spring), but now that fall is here, swapping nylon or cotton-blend materials for leather changes the entire look.

The style is the kind of piece that instantly elevates simple jeans or black leggings without trying too hard. When I spotted a few celebrities and fashion insiders across my feed adopting leather funnel jackets, it didn’t feel like another trend—it felt like the update I didn’t know my wardrobe needed.
