Newport County have signed former Swansea City player Cameron Evans, after successful a trial.
The versatile defender, 23, has agreed a two year deal with the League Two outfit, subject to EFL approval.
Former Wales under-19 centre back Evans through the youth ranks at Swansea City, having joined them at under-9 level.
Evans made one senior appearance for the Swans in an FA Cup tie against Stevenage in 2021.
He had two loan spells at Waterford in the Republic of Ireland and also represented Sligo Rovers before heading to Conference South side Taunton where he played last season.
Evans said: “I’ve been on trial over the last couple of weeks and got given a great opportunity, so I’m just really happy that I impressed enough to earn a contract.”
He will be well known to Newport boss Nelson Jardim, who was on the coaching staff at Swansea City and Exiles chairman Huw Jenkins after his time in charge with the Championship club.
Evans ‘ arrival takes Newport’s recruitment to 11 players in the summer transfer window.
