Stanley Tucci’s New Lasagna Pan Makes Me Want to Try Making Lasagna

Must Read

I’ve never thought much about lasagna pans. Why would I—a small apartment dweller with already limited space for their cookware—need a baking pan with a name that implies it serves only one purpose? Then I heard GreenPan and Stanley Tucci were teaming up again to release a ceramic nonstick lasagna pan. Well, I guess, I’ve got to try it now, I thought.

GreenPan™ Stanley Tucci™ Ceramic Nonstick Lasagna Pan

The new release expands Tucci’s GreenPan cookware line, joining the ranks of the editor-approved Stanley Pan and ceramic nonstick saucepan that came out last fall. And while I’m sure Stanley Tucci had visions of people whipping up his favorite lasagna recipe when naming this pan, this is really just a deep rectangular dish you can use to make a lot of things, lasagna or otherwise.

I got the pan in a lovely cream color, and I love how elegant it looks with the gold accent handles. It’s great for making deep-dish brownies, and I really can take this straight from the oven to the tabletop for serving. The price tag is a little steep, but I think it makes a great gift for any host in your life (because who thinks to get a lasagna pan for themselves?). You might even find yourself inspired to actually make lasagna in it.

But, wait there’s more

Here’s a rundown of more new launches we’re excited about:

Verve Dwell Coffee Brewer

Noah Kaufman, senior reviews editor: Taking a good coffee brewing setup on the road with you can be a little cumbersome. Test kitchen director Chris Morocco likes to bring an Aeropress with him, but I’m adding the new very packable Dwell brewer to my travel coffee kit. It’s a silicone pour-over dripper made by California coffee roaster Verve. The slightly squishy brewer has steeper walls than some other drippers like the Hario V60, which can up the contact between water and coffee. And for people new to pour-over, Verve printed the coffee-to-water ratio right on the bottom of the brewer.

Made In Pie Dish or Thanksgiving Set

Emily Farris, senior commerce writer: If you’re hosting Thanksgiving for the first time this year—or you’re ready to upgrade from the hand-me-down pans and platters you acquired for your inaugural holiday hosting gig—one of our favorite DTC brands is out with a solution. Made In just released their Ultimate Thanksgiving Set, which bundles everything you need to cook your turkey and serve it in style. It includes three main pieces: a large stainless-steel-clad roasting pan with a raised nesting rack to ensure crispy skin on every bit of your bird; a timeless egg-shaped platter with sloped sides that can go in the dishwasher, freezer, and microwave; and a simple carving set that includes a knife with a sturdy 9″ blade and a two-prong carving fork. If you’re experiencing a little sticker shock right now, I get it. Remember, though, this is a bundle. Considering the quality of Made In’s cookware and tableware, it’s also a pretty great deal. (There’s also a pie serving set if you’re in charge of baked goods this Thanksgiving.)

Great Jones All Aboard Cutting Board

Megan Wahn, associate commerce editor: The new Great Jones All Aboard cutting board offers the best of both worlds for those who prefer a plastic cutting board but want a more antique-inspired silhouette. It comes in Great Jones’s classic blueberry and broccoli colorways and includes a loop handle for easy gripping. There’s also a nice juice groove that can catch any runaway liquid, making it an excellent tool to use for holiday hosting and dinner party meal prep.

Wicked x Voluspa Collaboration

Alaina Chou, commerce writer: Like many, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of the Wicked movie this November. There’s been no shortage of Wicked-inspired products and collabs dropping in the lead-up to the premiere, but this themed candle set from Voluspa caught my eye. It features Elphaba- and Glinda-inspired candles, each with its own gemlike glass lid that doubles as a stand. The full set would make a great gift for the Wicked fanatic in your life (even if that Wicked fanatic is you). The candles are also available separately and as mini tins or in diffuser form.

MacKenzie-Childs Pretty As a Bow Tea Kettle

Megan Wahn, associate commerce editor: I already own (and love) an electric gooseneck kettle from BA favorite Fellow, but I also love the look and feel of a conventional stovetop one—and this bow emblazoned kettle from MacKenzie-Childs really made me consider the potential merits of owning two different kettles. I already love the coquette, pastel-checkered pattern trademark of MacKenzie-Childs pieces, but the precious little bows on this one really wraps up the whole look with a nice, pretty bow—literally. I think it’d make the perfect gift for anyone (re me) looking to get ahead on their holiday shopping.
