The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Spring 2025 exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” explores the history and cultural significance of Black dandyism from the 18th century to the present.
Co-curated by Andrew Bolton and Monica L. Miller, the exhibition features garments, photographs, and artworks that highlight how fashion has served as a form of self-expression and resistance within the Black diaspora.
Running from May 10 to October 26, 2025, at The Met Fifth Avenue, the exhibition coincides with the Met Gala on May 5, themed “Tailored for You,” celebrating the enduring influence of Black style icons.
