Today we have an edible turkey craft! Kids of all ages will have so much fun making this oatmeal cookie turkey craft. Turkey Crafts

We make a lot of crafts around the holidays… and really year round. But around the holiday I want everything to feel festive. And you know what? We are making Little Debbie’s festive too!

We are turning a Little Debbie oatmeal cream pie into a turkey! It’s cute, fun, and a budget-friendly Thanksgiving craft that anyone can enjoy. So without further ado, let’s make this festive Thanksgiving craft.

How To Put Together This Simple Turkey Craft

Step 1

Turkey Craft- Step 1- cookie on an orange piece of paper- Kids Activities Blog
Draw the first row of feathers, cut them out.

Place your oatmeal cookie on an orange piece of paper and trace out feathers.

Step 2

Turkey Craft- Step 2- Glue the orange feathers on the oatmeal cookie- Kids Activities Blog
Glue the feathers onto the cookie.

Cut the feathers out and glue them to the back of the cookie.

Step 3

Start drawing out the second row of feathers.

Place the cookie and first layer of cookies on green construction paper and trace out another single feather.

Step 4

Draw the rest of the feather, cut it out, and repeat on the other construction paper.

You’re going to remove the cookie and finish drawing the feather. It doesn’t have to be super long, but long enough to hang off the first layer of feathers.

Step 5

Make 4 green feathers and cut along the drawn line. Take 1 feather and use it as a stencil on the other paper. We used green, blue, red, yellow, brown, and purple. You want 3 of each feathers so you can make a couple cookies at once.

Step 6

Glue the rest of the feathers onto your turkey.

Glue the feathers around the first layer of orange feathers.

Step 7

Glue the beak and eyes on your cookie.

Cut a triangle off of the orange paper and glue it on to be the beak and use construction paper to make the black part of the eyes and glue them on.

Step 8

Add details like whites on the eyes and lines on the beak.

Paint some white on them as pupils and you’re done!

Ways To Make This Turkey Craft Your Own

Just like all our crafts you can change up things on this Thanksgiving craft to make it your own. You can do things like:

  • Add a red sneed.
  • Use googly eyes.
  • Make the beak more 3D by folding orange paper in half and then cutting out a triangle.
  • Add glitter.
  • Add details to the feathers.
