Missed Out on Bloom Energy? Check Out Hyliion Holdings Stock

Must Read

The AI boom has triggered an insatiable need for new, localized, decentralized and clean alternative power generation methods. While there has been much speculation about small modular nuclear reactors, regulatory hurdles can delay this possibility for many years. AI data centers have faced growing scrutiny for hogging power grid capacity, causing residents’ electric bills to skyrocket.

As covered in our last article, is a major beneficiary of this trend, as its Bloom Boxes are in very high demand. This has sent the stock soaring into the $300s, up from $18s just a year ago. If you missed out on Bloom Energy’s tremendous run, consider taking a look at Hylion Holdings Co. ().

Hyliion Holdings Could Be an Early Bloom Energy in the Making

Initially, Hylion Holdings Co. focused on constructing electric powertrains for Class 8 commercial trucks. This led them to pivot their focus to stationary and mobile clean primary and backup power generation. The result is their KARNO power generators. These turbines are fuel-agnostic, capable of using up to 20 different types of fuel, including natural gas, propane, diesel, biogas, hydrogen and methane. The modules generate 200 kW and can be combined into containerized units called KARNO boxes, which can be scaled up to 2 MW.

Bloom’s SOFCs vs. KARNO Linear Motor Technology

While Bloom Boxes use solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) to convert gas to electricity using an electrochemical reaction. KARNO uses a proprietary flameless oxidation process at low temperatures to generate intense, continuous heat that powers a linear motor, generating clean electricity with a single moving part. The flameless oxidation results in exceptionally low emissions, qualifying it as a clean energy technology.

Hyliion Is Pre-Commercial, but Provided Its Path to Commercialization Milestones

Unlike Bloom Energy, Hyliion is still in its early stages, with plans to deliver 10 early-adopter KARNO modules in 2026. The Company executed an LOI with data center developer VFG Holdings for up to 250 KARNO Cores (50 MWs) over five years. More than 750 KARNO Cores are under non-binding letters of intent (LOIs), representing nearly $400 million in potential revenue. The U.S. Navy has procured an 800 KW system for an uncrewed Navy vessel, which will be adaptable to 2.4 to 3.2 MW as a data center solution.HYLN-2026 Milestones-1
The roadmap towards full commercialization was outlined, with 2026 milestones in place, during their Q1 2026 conference call presentation. Each milestone can act as a catalyst for higher stock prices.

While Small, Hyliion’s Revenues Rose 400% in Q1 2026

Hyliion reported Q1 2026 revenue of 2.8 million, up 400% year-over-year (YoY), while net losses improved to $11.7 million. Hyliion is targeting $40 to $50 million in military contracts in 2026 while reaffirming 2026 revenues of $10 million. The Company has $139 million in cash and only $9 million in debt, one of the cleanest balance sheets in the sector. Hyliion Holdings shares move with the .
