Amazon’s two-day sales event is upon us and if you’ve been considering upgrading your coffee gear, you don’t want to miss these Prime Day coffee maker deals. Because the Amazon Prime Day offers can be so overwhelming, we sifted through thousands of deals and handpicked only the best deals on coffee makers, espresso machines, and other coffee-related gadgets. And we’re not just talking about the lowest prices—we’re talking about the lowest prices on machines and accessories that have been tested and approved by at least one Bon Appétit editor (and sometimes several).
This year’s Prime Day deals are so good, some of the best coffee makers and best espresso machines are on sale today—including our favorite Nespresso machine, which makes both coffee and espresso.
As always, our highly-caffeinated editors will be combing through Amazon Prime Day deals until midnight on Wednesday to keep you up to date on the best offers as they happen (or sell out), so be sure to bookmark this story and check back often. And keep in mind that some of the very best deals are reserved for Prime members, but it’s never too late to sign up.
A shortcut to the best Prime Day coffee maker deals:
Technivorm Moccamasters
If there’s one drip coffee maker we recommend over and over again, it’s the Technivorm Moccamaster, and today you can choose from several on-sale models. This high-quality drip coffee machine makes reliably smooth coffee that’s never burned or acidic thanks to the copper heating element which keeps the water at an ideal brewing temperature. It’s not programmable, but we don’t even care. It makes 10 cups of coffee at a time, which is ideal for households with multiple coffee drinkers… or if you simply like to drink a whole pot of coffee by yourself before you talk to anyone (we’re not judging). Choose between a glass carafe or an insulated stainless-steel carafe—or liven up your countertop (and your mornings) with a bright orange model.
Espresso machines
We did a deeper dive into the best Prime Day espresso machine deals, but while you’re here, you might want to consider one of these on-sale options.
Breville makes several of our favorite espresso machines, and if your wannabe inner barista is looking to upgrade from the more beginner-friendly Bambino Plus, the Breville Barista Express Impress is a great choice. It has a built-in grinder and automates a number of espresso-making functions like dosing and tamping, so it makes the entire process easier for someone who doesn’t want to make pulling espresso shots their whole personality. The Breville Oracle Touch Espresso Machine is Commerce Editor Carina Finn’s favorite espresso machine. It has a touch screen and for an automatic frothing function (via steam wand) is wonderful. And while we don’t typically recommend super automatic espresso machines, if you want a push-button experience, the De’Longhi Magnifica Automatic Espresso Machine is a solid option that’s on sale today too.
Burr coffee grinders
We really hope you’re not still using one of those glorified spice grinders with spinning blades to violently slash your fancy, fair-trade coffee beans into inconsistent shards. But if you are, we’re not here to judge (okay, we’re judging you a little) we just want you to know there’s a better way. Instead of going all Edward Scissorhands on your beans, a burr grinder breaks them down into a consistent, sandy pile by methodically rotating them against an abrasive surface, resulting in a better ground coffee and ultimately, a better cup of coffee. And today you can save on some of our favorite models. The Oxo Brew Conical Burr Coffee Grinder is a great machine for beginners and it’s on sale right now, as is the KitchenAid burr grinder—a long-time top pick of our in-house espresso expert and gear tester, Noah Kaufman.
Nespresso Vertuoline machines
If you have coffee lovers and espresso drinkers in the same home or office, today you can save big while you free up some valuable countertop space with our favorite single-serve coffee makers. Nespresso Vertuoline machines are actually combo coffee and espresso makers that make both coffee and espresso-style shots at the push of a button (the machine reads a barcode on the recyclable pod to brew the perfect cup or shot). And this pod coffee is so good it will make you forget those Keurig K-cups ever existed. Right now, our favorite model—the Nespresso Vertuo Plus—is on sale. You can also snag a deal on the newer, more compact Nespresso machine bundled with the Aeroccino 3 milk frother, which can make hot or cold frothy milk for lattes, cappuccinos, and more.
Ninja combo coffee machines
If you want the ability to brew coffee as well as something close to cold brew at home, Ninja’s Hot and Cold Brewed System can make both hot or iced coffee, as well as tea, and comes with a thermal carafe. Just keep in mind that this isn’t exactly a cold brew coffee maker and “cold” is used kind of loosely here; this machine brews coffee and tea at a lower temperature than what’s traditionally used to brew coffee. We’ve also been impressed with the Ninja DualBrew system, which can make single-servings of coffee from a pod or small reusable pod-like basket, or brew a 12-cup carafe.
Bodum French presses
This colorful, dishwasher-safe version of Bodum’s ubiquitous stainless-steel Chambord French press is on sale right now too. And at this price, it’s worth getting a spare for travel. If you prefer the classic look and feel, the Chambord is also on sale. As we write this, both the chrome and copper finishes are discounted.
Electric kettles
This budget-friendly electric kettle from Ninja was already a great value, but now that it’s on sale, it’s an even better deal. With seven presets, you can reach the perfect temperature for your pour-over, tea, and more with just one touch. Our favorite adjustable electric kettle from Oxo is on sale today, too.
