Aaron Ramsey could play a part in Wales’ Nations League finale

Must Read

“I’m not sure in what capacity he could be available for Wales or not. Obviously I don’t have any part to play in what Wales do, but timeframe-wise it was three to four weeks [out] so that takes us up to that period.

“After that, depending on whether he’s had an upturn or a downturn in how his performances have gone between now and then, obviously depends on whether he’ll be available for games for us or for Wales.”

Riza has overseen an upsurge in the Bluebirds’ fortunes since taking charge following Erol Bulut’s sacking, leading them out of the Championship relegation zone.

This has been achieved despite the injury absence of senior players including Ramsey and Joe Ralls.

While Riza has doubts whether Ramsey – who has won 86 caps and scored 21 international goals – could take to the pitch for Wales against Turkey or Iceland, he could still be involved with the squad, with Wales boss Craig Bellamy so impressed by Ramsey’s tactical knowledge that he has tipped him as a future manager.

“For me, if he hasn’t played any domestic football up to that point it would probably be quite difficult for him to feature in any footballing capacity, but… he might be there and go in to support the players in another capacity,” Riza added.

“So I understand it, but if those conversations take place and I get the call from Craig, I’m quite happy to have a chat.”

Wales are unbeaten in four Nations League games under Bellamy.

Their win over Montenegro means they are second in League B Group 4, two points behind leaders Turkey, who they face away from home on 16 November, before rounding off the competition with a home game against Iceland three days later.
